No Man Can Serve Two Masters
Women are attracted to men with money. In our society, money equals power. However, a wise man would consider if this attraction is based on wisdom or greed. Greed is one of the seven deadly sins. It seeks all it can devour and when there is nothing left to consume, it seeks to devour itself.
A wise woman is more indepth, knowing money to be only the residue of a good man, so greed is often not her goal. She seeks things more essential to the development of a complete relationship.
Most men are fully aware women prefer men who are financially secure and many strive to reach that level of financial stability in order to attract their desired mate. Some men would compromise their character for the purpose of attracting the opposite sex.
However, the risk involved in the chase for dollars can destroy even the most innocent men. While his intentions may be innocent, one can quickly lose focus on the priority of keeping the Creator first and fall into idolatry. For no man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and MONEY.
Therefore, men may find themselves facing the dilema of pursuing money and a mate or seeking the direction of the Divine. Nevertheless, a choice must be made between the two. The choice of one diminishes the value of the other. The value of one must decrease, else you will find yourself in constant conflict, dividing your loyalty. This is a choice we all must make. Small men often chose to pursue money, but great and successful men find money to be only the byproduct of true success.
However, it is clear, we need both God and Money. Money is an essential element of our existence, we cannot do the necessary things in life without money. If you truly look at this matter, certainly you will discover God should be our number one priority. For the earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof and they that dwell therein. So our service should be to Him.
To hammer down this observation, let's look at the nature of money. First, money is constantly moving, changing from one hand to the next, which is it's function. So, its function is steady movement. One minute you can have it and next minute, it's gone. Money is currency. The root word of currency is the word current. Current mean to circulate or flow. Therefore, money must continue to flow throughout our society or else it loses its functunality. Would you trust or serve such an elusive commodity?
The opertive word here is serve, because money should serve us and we should serve God. Therefore, It comes down to priority. If your ultimate goal in life is to become rich, what is your approach in accomplishing this goal? Will you commit unscrupulous acts to reach the pinnacle of success? Will you rob, steal or cheat? When money has become your main priority, believe me, you will. But, when Father has become your priority, the blessing of the Lord maketh rich and adds no sorrow.
In chosing your way, you must understand the unlimited resource you possess. It is the most incredible, magnificent and well functioning gift you ever received. It is more proficient than the most powerful PC and more powerful than any Multimillion Dollar Mainframe. It has unlimited potential and can solve infinite calculations instantly. This full functioning mechanism is your mind. It is the gift of your Creator. Equipped with this miracle from the Master, how then can you chose to serve such petty purposes?
